ArchiCAD Concepts for Former AutoCAD Users series:
Many current ArchiCAD Users are coming from and AutoCAD background. This may cause some difficulty in learning the program as many identical or similar things are called differently and many things are achieved differently in the two programs. A former AutoCAD may become frustrated that this program does not do thing he/she used to do in AutoCAD.
This series of videos tries to locate and explain the terminology difference between the two programs and also the different "philosophy" behind them, pointing out how various things are done in ArchiCAD as opposed to how they were achieve in AutoCAD. For example, what AutoCAD users know as Model Space and Paper Space have their equivalent in ArchiCAD: they are the Model Viewpoints and the Layouts. Efforts are made to explain that: if you did something in AutoCAD that was called this way, then in ArchiCAD it is called that way and this is how you can achieve the same.
